Comfortable Bedrooms
Resting spaces should ensure accessibility without compromising comfort or privacy. Designing bedrooms with sufficient space for easy movement, installing sliding or automated doors, and positioning sockets and switches at accessible heights are key elements of an inclusive bedroom. Additionally, having safe and adjustable furniture enhances residents’ quality of life, ensuring rest and well-being.

- Ensure spacious layouts to facilitate movement with wheelchairs, walking sticks, or frames. Incorporate a central Ø 150 cm free space to accommodate a wheelchair’s turning radius.
- Installation of sliding or automated doors for greater convenience with a minimum clear opening width of 120 cm.
- Sockets and switches positioned at an accessible height.
- Height-adjustable beds and furniture with rounded edges for added safety.
- Provide «transfer zones» around the bed:
– A 50 cm height bed
– A 120 cm x 80 cm area on both sides of the bed.
