Vegetation and Landscape Design

The park’s vegetation must contribute to accessibility, comfort, and safety for all users. Trees and plants should be selected and maintained in ways that do not obstruct pathways, lighting, or visibility — and should also consider the needs of people with allergies or sensitivities to certain species.

  • Select vegetation that ensures a clear space of at least 2.20 meters between the ground and tree crowns.
  • Install lighting at ground or low levels to avoid obstruction by branches or leaves.
  • Avoid planting species with high allergenic potential; choose a diverse mix of plants with staggered flowering periods.
  • Keep plants trimmed to prevent interference with pathways, signage, and mobility infrastructure.
  • Ensure vegetation does not block or reduce the effectiveness of public lighting.
  • Plan plant distribution to promote shade and comfort without creating visual or physical barriers.
  • Use native or well-adapted species to reduce maintenance and environmental impact.
